What is self-destruction on Telegram and what is it for?

It is a function with which you can delete your Telegram account if you are not online at least 1 time during a certain period . Said account will be deleted along with all your messages and contacts , the connection period is configurable and can vary according to: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year .

How does self-destruction work on Telegram?

As we have said before, if you are not online at least once during this period , your account will be deleted with all your messages and contacts. This period is configurable to the following time interval: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year . So try to connect at least 1 time in 1 month if you have it configured in this interval or similar.

Activate Self Destruct In Telegram

To enable the self-destruction of the account , the first thing we must do is enter the application and we will look at the top left where there are 3 horizontal lines , we enter inside. It is here where we will see a menu on the left side of the screen with many options , the one that interests us is “Settings” , we enter inside.

Now in “Settings” we will see a menu with the following options:

• Notifications and Sounds.
• Privacy & Security.
• Data and Storage.
• Chat settings.
• Language.
• Aid.

Of all the options, we must enter where it says “Privacy and Security” .

This is where we must go down a bit to “Advanced” and click where it says “Delete my Telegram account if I’m away” (by default it is 6 months) .

Set Up Self Destruct On Telegram

Now we can choose the period of self-destruction of the account:

• 1 Mes.
• 3 months.
• 6 months.
• 1 year.

Remember that if in one of these established periods you do not connect even once, your account along with your contacts, photos and chat will be self-destructed and therefore deleted forever .
